Robotics and Material Recycling Innovations at Columbia Makerspace

In a collaborative endeavor with a team of 11 at Columbia Makerspace, our objective is firmly set on implementing and refining a recycling system aimed at converting waste PLA from 3D prints back into reusable filament. While the structural design was preexisting, my primary role has been to partner with the team on the manufacturing and assembly front. Throughout this process, I've been actively involved in problem-solving, addressing challenges that arise, and ensuring the efficient realization of our primary goal. As a future extension, once our main objective is achieved, we're considering integrating a computer vision system to further enhance our recycling operations.
